The Construction Lawyer will provide legal support and counsel on all matters related to construction projects. This includes drafting and negotiating contracts, handling claims and disputes, advising on regulatory compliance, and mitigating legal risks associated with construction operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction law, contract law, and dispute resolution in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Drafting and Negotiation
-Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements.
-Construction contracts
-Subcontracts and supply agreements
-Joint venture agreements
-Consultant agreements
-Ensure contracts are compliant with local laws and regulations.
-Provide advice on risk allocation and mitigation strategies during contract negotiation.
2. Claims and Dispute Resolution
-Handle construction claims, including delay, disruption, and defect claims.
-Manage dispute resolution processes such as mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
-Liaise with external counsel, arbitrators, and other third parties when necessary.
3. Regulatory Compliance
-Advise the company on applicable construction regulations, permits, and licenses.
-Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
-Stay updated on changes in construction and contract law.
4. Risk Management
-Identify potential legal risks in ongoing and future projects.
-Develop and implement strategies to minimize exposure to legal liabilities.
-Provide training to project managers and staff on legal issues related to construction.
5. General Legal Support
-Assist in legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or new project ventures.
-Advise on insurance coverage and claims for construction projects.
-Handle other legal matters as assigned by senior management.
